Coorg or Kodagu is the Top hill Station, hundreds of thousands of tourists take their journey to the district to see the awesome landscapes and nature. The Landscape and thick forest where the Western Ghats cross through the district is the place for rainy forest and high mountain ranges, rare flora and fauna, the ranges covered by thick green forest.

The real Trekking route starts between the slope green rainy forest in Coorg where you need to use your physical power. Many clubs providing trekking guides and offers many routes inside the district or border between Kerala, Dakshina Kannada District. The trekking routes are long with difficulties, at least, should trek around 40 km to reach the civilization from the starting Point. Heggademane to Pushpagiri

The Village Heggademane is the point starts for trekking and easily reachable from the town Madikeri, the whole area surrounded by the green thick mountains and have to walk between it, pushpagiri is one of the tallest peak in Coorg District at the height of 1712m above sea level, this is the famous trekking spot where many trekkers visiting frequently.

Sanivarshante to Subramania

Sanivarshante is tiny town located in the Somwarpet taluk where the trek starts from few kilometers into the forest from Sanivarshante, the route is filled by green forest and mountain ranges with waterfalls rich flora and fauna, through Ghats sections, finally end up in Subramania (A Holly Place located in border of Dakshina Kannada District). The approximate distance of the route is 30 to 35km.

Galibeedu to Subramania

Galibeedu is the beautiful village just 6 km from Madikeri town and the landscape here awesome in and around the village, the route is completely filled by small and high mountains ranges with good sceneries, there is no particular route for trekking the trekkers have to choose their route through the mountain ranges to reach Subramania. The route is about 30km and the whole route is hard to climb into the thick forest, water streams. Beware of wild animals such as Elephants, Gaur and leopards, do not trek alone.ta

Nalkunad Palace to Talakaveri

Nalkunad Palace is located near town the Napoklu, the mountain ranges here are cover by green grass with beautiful surrounding. Thadiyandamol peak and Pushpagiri peak can be seen and there are two routes through the peaks both routes are almost on the chain of peaks choose one to reach Talakaveri.

There are many mountain ranges and rainy forest chains in Coorg where human’s settlements are rare, some parts of the district are on the Western Ghats range which best for trekking where the border touches in Kerala, Dakshina Kannada and Hassan.
