Abbey falls, Famous waterfalls in Coorg and nearest falls to the main town Madikeri, is accessible from Madikeri situated about 8 km away, Abbey is the name derived from the British People during their administration. Once British people named ‘Jessi’ to this falls, is one of the popular falls from British time to nowadays. The waterfalls plunge densely in the rainy season due to rain, it plunges from the height of 70 feet. Abbey falls combined by several streams and plunging down within mountain slope, surrounded by Coffee and Cardamom plantation, the falls located between private properties. A hanging bridge built opposite the falls for a perfect view of the falls. The road which leads to Gaddige (Tomb of Maharaja in Madikeri town) take straight and follow Road sign boards that take you to Abbey falls, the Road is well maintained and accessible by small to heavy vehicles including Buses, beware of dangerous curves. There is no government or a private bus service exists to reach Abbey falls.
